Strong Foundations: A Pelvic Floor Workshop for Every Stage
Your pelvic floor plays a role in much more than you might realize. It works with your breathing, core, posture, movement, pressure management, and everyday activities.
Yet pelvic floor health can sometimes feel confusing or overwhelming, especially when you're given generic advice that doesn't necessarily take your individual body into account.
That's why Uplift Pilates & Therapy is hosting
Strong Foundations: A Pelvic Floor Workshop for Every Stage on Sunday, October 25 in Geneva, Illinois.
This one-time workshop is designed to give women practical, approachable information they can use in their everyday lives.
What is a pelvic floor workshop?A pelvic floor workshop is an opportunity to learn more about how your pelvic floor functions and how it connects with the rest of your body.
At Strong Foundations, Anna Madejska will guide participants through education and movement so you can better understand things like breathing, pressure management, pelvic floor connection, relaxation, and strength.
The goal isn't to overwhelm you with information. It's to give you practical tools and a better understanding of your body.
You don't always need to "just do Kegels"
Pelvic floor health isn't one-size-fits-all.
Some women may benefit from strengthening. Others may need to work on relaxation, coordination, breathing, or pressure management.
During the workshop, you'll learn about the difference between a hypotonic and hypertonic pelvic floor and why understanding that difference matters.
You'll also explore gentle exercises for connection, release, and strength.
What will you learn?During the 60-minute educational portion of the workshop, you'll explore:
- 360° diaphragmatic breathing
- Pressure management
- Pelvic floor connection and release
- Strength and coordination
- Hypotonic vs. hypertonic pelvic floors
- Practical strategies for everyday movement
- How pelvic health can relate to workouts, mobility, leaks, heaviness, and intimacy
Then you'll finish with a 30-minute movement session where you can put some of these concepts into practice.
Who is this workshop for?Strong Foundations is designed for women at different stages of life.
That includes women who are:
- Postpartum
- Active and interested in supporting their pelvic health
- Experiencing changes during perimenopause
- Navigating menopause
- Simply curious about their pelvic floor and how it connects to movement
You don't have to be experiencing a specific problem to benefit from learning more about your body.
